Chatham Courier Services was started in 1996 when Terry Williams delivered a small parcel to a destination in London. Personal recommendations followed and slowly the business expanded as more clients appreciated the personal service that Terry was able to give.

At the same time Alicia Burford was delivering parcels for a mail order company and was promoted to their management team in 2000.

Alicia and Terry formed their partnership in November 2001 and immediately the Chatham Courier Services logo became a regular feature on South East England’s Roads.

As the business gathered pace, it was soon obvious that their depot with its lack of office facilities, had become too small and a larger depot would have to be found. The business was able to relocate to much larger premises on the Gillingham Business Park. By the end of 2002, Chatham Courier Services started their Archive Document storage.

Always keen to expand their range of services, 2003 saw the start of the Van and Driver Service which was to prove popular with companies in the holiday season. Also their association at the time with BNI (Business Network International) led to a joint Venture with another local business to provide a nationwide overnight delivery service.

In 2004 some major mail order and Internet Shopping Companies, were seeking Courier Companies to deliver their parcels in Kent .Chatham Courier Services were not only ideally situated but also had the expertise that was second to none in this field and the transition went smoothly which was appreciated by both the mail order company and their Customers who now received a regular courier service in some of
the remotest parts of Kent. By using there own directly employed drivers, Chatham Courier Services were able to give these customers their own personal Courier.

In 2005, the expansion continued. Chatham Courier Services had their own Freephone number installed which connects directly to either Terry or Alicia. With the expansion, the personal service continued with Chatham Courier Services.

In 2008 we moved from Gillingham Business Park to new bigger premises at the Invicta Business Centre. In fact 2008 was a great year for us as during that year we won the Medway Small Business Award for Customer Service!

Now we've left that original unit at the Invicta Business Centre behind as because of our continued service expansion we had to move to larger premises. We didn't have to move far as the Invicta Business Centre had a unit that was much larger than the one we initially had which was just right for us.

The service is going from strength to strength and 2009 has been one of our best years yet, and we're looking forward to 2010 and whatever it may bring.
